Colleen A. Kraft, MD, MBA, FAAP is the 2019 Immediate Past President of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her background includes work in primary care pediatrics, pediatric education, and health care financing. Dr. Kraft’s earliest education was as a child in the Inaugural class of Head Start in 1965. She received her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech and her M.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her MBA from the University of Cincinnati. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Kraft led a pediatric accountable care program at Cincinnati Children’s from 2014-2017. Her financial model incorporated investments to address social determinants of health, population health data-driven quality improvement initiatives and improved payment for primary care services.
Dr. Kraft was the Founding Program Director of the Pediatric Residency at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. She developed a Health Care Policy and Management Elective for residents during her time in Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. Kraft’s work in early childhood and population health seeks to translate the goals of health equity into medical practice.
As president of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2018, Dr. Kraft is best known for her advocacy for humane treatment of migrant children at the US-Mexico border. Her explanation to the public regarding the harm to young children during the “Zero Tolerance” policy that included separation of children from parents at the border help to mobilize advocates across the political spectrum to end this policy. She continues to advocate for basic child rights for children at the border.

Dr Majeed H Jawad has been a consultant Paediatrician since 1992. He is the lead for Paediatric Cardiology and safeguarding children at SASH.

and Consultant of Pediatrics at faculty of Medicine, Cairo University , also he

Health (FRCPCH), London(UK). Dr.El-Baroudy is an International Member of the
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and he is an International board certified
lactation consultant (IBCLC). Also he is an international instructor of the Pediatric
Fundamentals Critical Care Support (PFCCS) course accredited by the American
Society of Critical Care Medicine(ASCCM).In addition to his long experience
dealing with feeding and nutritional problems, he has an interest in diagnosis and
management of allergic and asthmatic patients and a special interest in renal
diseases especially of the metabolic nature and he has published in all these

Leila holds a PhD in Nutrition and is a registered nutritionist with the UK Association for Nutrition. She has more than 15 years of experience in international nutrition and she is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at the University of Sharjah. She is leading the INTERGROWTH-21st Project at Oxford University since 2008.
She has worked as a Nutrition Scientist at the IAEA in Vienna. She also previously worked as a Nutrition Technical Officer at WHO and assisted the adoption of the WHO MGRS new growth standards.
Her interests also include the global strategy on infant and young child feeding. Leila has conducted many training workshops focusing on the new WHO MGRS growth standards, nutrition and infant feeding. She is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Food, Nutrition and Public Health.

Brief Introductory Bio: Herschel Lessin MD
Dr. Lessin has been a practicing community Pediatrician for 38 years. He is the founder and senior partner of The Children’s Medical Group, a private practice comprising 26 Pediatric clinicians in 8 office locations over 3 counties in New York State’s Mid Hudson Valley region.
Dr. Lessin received his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto California and did his Pediatric internship and residency at Yale. Although practicing in the community, he has been active in the American Academy of Pediatrics on a national level, having written several national policy statements on such topics as Immunization Access, Cocooning infants by Immunizing parents in the pediatric office, Instrument Based Vision Screening, and most recently the newly released 2019 Clinical Practice Guidelines for Pediatric offices. He is also the co-editor of the ADHD toolkit, an online resource linked to the practice guidelines that provides practical tools and processes to evaluate and treat ADHD in the general Pediatric Office. He currently serves on the Payer Advocacy and Advisory Committee, a national committee that interfaces with American insurance payers, both commercial and governmental that assists practicing pediatricians get adequate payment for the critical services they provide to Children with as little hassle and interference as possible.
He has been faculty at the AAP’s national meetings for the past 8 years, speaking on topics related to the business of medicine, medical malpractice, practice aggregation models, Practice management, and medical mission work. He has spoken widely around the US and abroad, most recently at the Indian Academy of Pediatrics annual meeting in Mumbai in 2018.

Mr. Amjad Jarrar is currently Instructor at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), College of Food and Agriculture, Department of Food, Nutrition and Health.
His professional experience includes 21 years as an instructor in universities in M’UTAH University-Jordan and in UAE University, more than 10 years as sport nutrition consultants at Aljazeera Sport Club, Abu Dhabi –UAE.
He has published 15 articles in Peer Reviewed Journals. His research interests include sport nutrition, metabolic syndrome, Assessment of salt intakes and glycemic index.
Mr. Jarrar, has a Master of Science degrees in Nutrition and Food from Jordan University. He is, currently enrolled as a Ph.D. student at Faculty of Sport and Health Science, Department of Sport and Health Sciences, Oxford Brookes University, UK.

Hania Szajewska, MD, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Paediatrics at the Medical University of Warsaw.
Until June 2019, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Previously, Prof. Szajewska served as a member of the Council and then as the General Secretary of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN). She also served as the Secretary of the ESPGHAN Committee on Nutrition. Most recently (January 2019), she joined the Board of Directors of the International Scientitic Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics.
Prof. Szajewska has broad interests in paediatric nutrition but her research focuses on the effects of early dietary interventions on later outcomes, the gut microbiota modifications such as with probiotics and/or prebiotics, and diarrhoeal diseases. She is or has been actively involved in several European Union-funded research projects.
She has co-authored more than 300 publications and 25 book chapters.

Yvan Vandenplas did his medical studies at the ”Vrije Universiteit Brussel”. He became Head of the Unit for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition in 1987 and Head of the Pediatric Hospital, the "KidZ Health Castle", at the University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel) and has the Chair of Pediatrics since 1994. He defended his Ph.D. thesis on "Esophageal pH monitoring for Gastro-Esophageal Reflux in Infants and Children" in April 1991. He has over 400 publications listed in PubMed and presented over 800 talks at diverse international meetings. His main interests are functional gastro-intestinal disorders such as gastro-esophageal reflux and constipation, infant nutrition, focusing on probiotics, prebiotics and cow's milk protein allergy.

Mobeen H. Rathore, MD is Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Founding Director of University of Florida Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (UF CARES).
He is also Chief of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Wolfson Children's Hospital and Co-Director of Community Engagement Program of the University Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute (UF CTSI).
Dr. Rathore graduated from King Edwards Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his Residency at Children's Hospital and Medical Center of Akron and Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases ant St. Louis University and Washington University.
He is a tenured Professor and has been a faculty at University of Florida since 1991. He has been continuously funded by the NIH since 1994 and has received over $70 million in extramural funding. He has over 425 scholarly communications and over 320 invited presentations all over the world. His focus has been on HIV and hospital epidemiology.
He has mentored many students and trainees. Dr. Rathore serves on the Sub-board of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He is the former member of the Committee on Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics and on the Editorial board of Red Book. Dr. Rathore has several AAP in several capacities, including Editorial Board of AAP Grand Rounds and several Task Forces and is the Founding Executive Committee member of the Section of International Medical Graduates.
He has previously served on the boards of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, Wolfson Children’s Hospital and HIVMA. Dr. Rathore is the former President of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Duval County Medical Society, Muslim America Social Services (MASS) Inc. and Leadership Jacksonville. He currently sits on the Boards of Florida Medical Association, Islamic Center of Northeast Florida, and OneJax (A human Rights Organization) and is District X Vice-Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Rathore has received many teaching, community service and research awards.

Dr. Khaled El-Atawi is a Consultant Neonatologist in NICU Pediatric department, Clinical Quality Specialist, Latifa Women and Children Hospital, and Lecturer of Pediatrics in Dubai Medical College.
Dr. El-Atawi was graduated from faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University, EGYPT in 1989 then had his Master in Pediatrics from faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University, EGYPT in 1994.
In 2009 he achieved his Master in Healthcare Management from Royal College of Surgeon of Ireland and in 2014 he had his PhD from Ain Shams University, EGYPT with honor. And he is also Fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health of LONDON since 2017 and in 2019 had his Hospital Management Professional Diploma by the American Board for Quality, Science and Technology with a grade of Excellence.
His fields of interest are; Neonatal Ventilation, Neonatal Nutrition, Brain injury and protection. He also works with team on quality improvement projects with positive results especially on reducing incidence of severe IVH and ROP as well.
He is a Regional Trainer for NRP by AAP since 2014, He is an international Member in American Academy in Pediatrics and, he is a member in many international neonatal societies. Also he is Senior Editorial Board member of journal Pediatric and neonatal nursing, Journal of Pediatrics & Neonatal Care.
He is a speaker in many regional and international conferences, having many publications in the field of neonatology.

He is the founder of the Saudi Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship training program.

He is a regular speaker at various conferences and delivers lectures on issues related to nutrition and diseases in pediatrics. He has over40 publications.

Ministry of National guard .She is also the Director Of Perinatal-Neonatal Fellowship Program and Saudi Perinatal-Neonatal Fellowship Program Coordinator (WR, SR and NR ).
She obtained her medical college degree from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah; she then obtained her neonatal perinatal fellowship sub specialist at university of Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Alallah also is A broad member of the Saudi neonatology society involved in a lot of scientific activities across the country . She published several papers and she is an editorial board of journal of clinical neonatology .
She is the Director of Saudi Neonatal Resuscitation Program which focuses on basic and advanced resuscitation skills for newly born infants. She has developed the standard of national neonatal resuscitation program and many train the trainer and simulation courses in neonatal resuscitation across the country.

Professor Alan Lucas Founded the Child Nutrition research Centre at the Institute of Child Health in London, where he is now Emeritus Professor of Paediatric nutrition.
He also holds an Emeritus Chair at Oxford University and has an academic appointment at Cambridge University. Professor Lucas’ work on nutrition spans the period from fetal life to adolescence though he has a particular interest in the concept of “programming” (a term he coined); he initiated the first intervention trials to test the programming effects of early nutrition on long term health and development.
He has over 400 publications in the field of Paediatric Nutrition and has received a number of awards for his work, including the James Spence medal awarded in recognition of life-time achievement in British Paediatrics and the Sam Fomon Award 2018 from the American Academy of Pediatrics for life-time contributions to Nutrition.
